Growing up, the first thing I would do when it was warm enough outside was grab the sidewalk chalk and create a hopscotch board. This obstacle course board puts a fun spin on the classic, and there are so many other options! You can use paint your favorite colors on pavers for a permanent option, or make it a learning experience by hopping across the planets toward the sun.
Making an outdoor garden is a delicious and healthy teaching opportunity, but if you don’t have the lawn space, there are indoor options, too. Painting mason jars (or not painting them), and putting your favorite flowers or herbs inside brings life to any room or counter top.

Springtime means the air is light, and the colors are bright! What better way to bring aspects of the season together than by making a lively kite to fly? Personalize them as much as possible with your favorite colors, and have your children decorate them with markers.

Birds are an astounding resource for science education, and you can make sure to learn more this spring by bringing them to the open air near your home with a homemade bird feeder.
Dahlias, and many other flowers, are springing from their roots this time of year. If you’re looking to add some color to any room or door (these make great wreaths), paper dahlia flowers are the craft for you!
