Motherhood is rewarding, yes, but let’s face it: being a mom is tough, and moms are so deserving of a day celebrating and recognizing them for all the hard work they do. This Mother’s Day, help kids show mom how much they love and appreciate her with these simple Mother’s Day crafts.
Many moms say that along with lots of hugs and quality time together, the most meaningful Mother’s Day gifts are the ones kids make themselves. Handmade crafts and cards from kids are adorable, but they’re also a meaningful and lasting keepsake. Kids don’t stay little for long, and that child-like scrawl or messy finger painting will one day be a sweet reminder of how small they once were.
To help make your Mother’s Day planning easier, we visited our favorite source for crafty inspiration to find the best crafts kids can make for Mother’s Day.
While some of these Mother’s Day crafts are simple enough for kids to complete without much help, Dad or an older sibling may need to supervise the more complicated ones. And of course, don’t forget Grandma on Mother’s Day! All these crafts would be perfect to make for her, too.
Kids will have fun making these crafts, and Mom will love her cute homemade gift. Happy Mother’s Day, and thank you moms, for all you do!

4. Pool Noodle Flowers

5. Adjectives with Name
This is a fun learning activity that mom will love. Write out the word mother or use mom’s name. Have your child come up with a word that matches each letter.
6. Love You THIS Much
This is a simple project for any age. All you need is some construction paper, glue or tape, and markers. Have your child trace and cut out their hands and tape/glue them onto a long piece of construction paper. You can attach multiple pieces together or ‘accordion fold’ the paper to make it fun when opening.

7. Painted Flower Pot
Symbolize a child’s love growing with this fun flower pot idea. A flower pot, paint and a flower or plant is all you need. Allow your child to paint the flower pot using a brush or their hands, and let them pick their mom’s favorite plant. You could also glue charms or other decorations to it.
8. Handful of Flowers
What bouquet could be better than one your child makes with his or her own hands? All you’ll need for this craft is paint, construction paper, a ribbon and markers.
9. Hand and Foot Painting
Something on the messier side, but something mom and child will both love. Mom will get to look at this picture and see how much the child grows over the years, and kids will love that they get to put their hands AND feet into paint!
10. Fingerprint Necklace/Pendant
Using Sculpey or any type of clay, use cookie cutters to create hearts, then have your child press their finger to leave a print. Paint the heart once it’s finished drying
11. Mother’s Day Plate
For this craft you’ll need an oven-proof plate and porcelain paint. Use your child’s hands or allow them to decorate the plate however they want. A great gift for mom or Grandma on Mother’s Day!
